Named after its method of fermentation in concrete eggs, the second bottling of this opulent Chardonnay is a result of experimentation and curiosity. A blend of two clones, Dijon 548 and Dijon 95, the 2023 Chardonnay, Méthode Béton is beautifully perfumed with notes of orange blossom and acacia flower. On the palate, this vintage offers a rich texture from extended aging on its lees, with notes of shaved almond, white peach, and citrus for a bright, crisp finish.
Our 2023 Méthode Béton Chardonnay is bright and refreshing, with subtle floral hints of honeysuckle, lemon verbena, and lime zest on the nose. Fermentation and aging in concrete eggs preserve the wine’s clean and crisp character, allowing vibrant fruit flavors to shine. On the palate, bright notes of linden, pear, mango, and pineapple create a lively, juicy profile. Extended time on the lees lends a rich texture and an elegant, lingering finish.
