Named for our technique of fermenting and aging in concrete eggs, our 2023 Méthode Beton Sauvignon Blanc showcases an unoaked style of winemaking that focuses on the wine's captivating textural characteristics. Through extended lees contact, we achieve a palate that is full while preserving the aromatic intensity of Sauvignon Blanc. Unraveling delightful notes of zesty citrus, lemongrass, crisp apple, succulent mango, and a touch of luscious melon, this symphony of flavors dances gracefully on your palate, revealing a rich integration and finishing with a satisfying depth and purity.
2023’s cool growing season yielded an unusually late harvest for Sauvignon Blanc. But patience has its rewards. Our 2023 vintage is refined, brimming with crisp citrus, gooseberry, and Granny Smith apple, with a hint of honeydew melon on the finish. The word Béton, French for "concrete," highlights the wine’s fermentation in concrete eggs. This method preserves freshness and enhances lees contact without oak, resulting in a luscious weight and density that unfolds elegantly on the palate.
